May God comfort you today. Dear Family, may I express my deepest and sincere condolences for your loss. You can, however, find a degree of comfort in knowing that the God of Tender Mercies, who cannot lie, has promised a resurrection for all of those in the memorial tombs. John 5:28,29.

My condolences to the family, I first met Leon when I bought my own first new .car (2000) and I can say Leon was not the car sales man that I ran from, he was very honest, caring, and helpful to me. He will be missed.

Our Uncle Leon was special. When you’re one of 17 children, the 10th born and 5th of 6 sons of diligent, hardworking Black folks in 20th century rural Oklahoma, it would be easy to blend in, hoe the rows, bail the cotton and slip into a quiet life. That was not the path that uncle Leon chose, though frankly, as handsome as he was, blending in was never truly an option! Instead he chose a life that above all else, demonstrated in word and deed, his endless devotion to his family and a thirst for success. One of my favorite pictures is of my uncle holding me as a tiny baby, protecting me from harm, with a twinkle in those beautiful golden-green eyes, seemingly already dreaming of a bright future for me.

May God comfort you today. May you find comfort and strength in the promise from God that he will change tears of grief to tears of joy.
