(2 Corinthians 1:2-4) We will see our dear love one Jessie again. Jesus paid the high price insuring that we would. The following verses encourages with this hope (John 5:25-30) 25 “Most truly I say to you, the hour is coming, and it is now, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who have paid attention will live. 26 For just as the Father has life in himself, so he has granted also to the Son to have life in himself. 27 And he has given him authority to do judging, because he is the Son of man. 28 Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, and those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment. 30 I cannot do a single thing of my own initiative. Just as I hear, I judge, and my judgment is righteous because I seek, not my own will, but the will of him who sent me. . .

As a former ATSS, former FAA Academy Instructor, former AOV Safety Inspector, former QCG Specialist, and current SSC Manager, I am but one of Jessie's multitude of living legacies. He personally selected me to be an FAA Instructor in 2006. Several years later, I attended his retirement celebration. Jesse opened many doors, influenced many lives, and transformed the Technical Operations Training organization. He was a pioneer for diversity in the academy and an agent of change. My heart is broken by his departure. My heart is also broken for his beautiful family and closest friends. Based on my encounters with him, his broad intellect and work ethic were only surpassed by the empathy in his heart, and his sincere desire for others to succeed. He was much more than a Division Manager to those of us who worked for him. He was a mentor, the true essence of a leader, and a dear friend. I thank Beverly and their children for loaning him to us. Beverly’s support and generosity made their entire family a wonder to behold. They never failed to open their home to me. At best, I will continue to pay forward the kindness, generosity and opportunity Beverly and Jessie provided for me. I take solace in the fact that although his life was cut far too short for anyone's liking, Jessie (with Beverly) touched lives in a manner that will impact generations. They empowered many to build stronger foundations for themselves, their children, and their children’s children. It isn't the time we have that’s important. It is what we do with it that truly matters. I miss Jessie dearly. I will miss him for the rest of my life.

Jessie, I also didn’t know you for very long. But I always appreciated how you could wade through the paperwork to get a contract instructor lined up to teach an Academy class or provide an in-depth analysis of the latest Thunder game. May the Lord comfort your family at this time of sadness.
