Of the 26 years I've known you, I doubt I went more that 26 days without you crossing my mind at least one time.. I'm thankful for the time we had together and for everything I learned from you. We had a lot of good times (mostly because of you) as well as a lot of bad ones (mostly because of me), but even through the bad you always kept it classy. I thank you for allowing me the opportunity to redeem myself after so many years apart. You are and will always be the kindest soul I ever met. You know, I still don't know the answer to your question as to how I got this big ahead and still ended up with a brain too big to fit, but hopefully you've found out the answer to mine as to how God was able to fit a heart so big into body as small as yours. Enjoy Heaven angel. You will never be forgotten.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Kenya's death. My heart goes out to you. As someone who lost a son 3 years, I know the pain that you must feel. I adored Kenya as a coworker! I once attended a party at her home and was enthralled with her sense of style. She was kind and generous and such a sweet soul. I visited her a couple of times in OKC when I was there for work and we always had a wonderful time. I am honored that I knew her.

Kenya, I can’t believe that I’m writing this because you are gone. I know we didn’t hang out or kick it as adults, but when I think about you when we were in school, I have nothing but positive and good memories about you. That gorgeous smile you had, your humility, and your smarts. You always had yourself together and always shared that smile with anyone who approached you. Definitely a kindred spirit gone way to soon. I give my condolences to your family and your close friends. Rest in paradise, old friend.

I met you at Irving Middle School. We hit it off at first sight and been friends ever since. We did talent shows together, was on the Pom team together, traveled together, went to church together, you were truly my best friend. I left Oklahoma in 1995, but you STILL kept in touch with me and wrote letters and sent pictures. Life happened and we did not talk for a while until we met up in Dallas in 2014. I had not seen you or Kanisha in over 22 years but when we saw each other, it was like we never skipped a beat. My heart hurts so bad because you just celebrated your 40th birthday last month and I just seen your beautiful engagement pictures. My heart was full because my friend fell in love and planned to marry a wonderful man. My heart is broken now. I will never be the same. Keep smiling on us KeKe. You are forever in my heart!

I am writing this message to extend my deepest condolences to Kenya's family. I met Kenya as a coworker through PVN. We became fast friends and workout buddies. She embraced me so quickly and I considered her part of my "Dallas Family." Kenya's amazing heart truly showed when she treated patients. I can remember a time when she purchased socks for patients with her own money to assist with ADLs. Kenya leaves behind not only family and friends, but also hundreds of patients who she helped rehab after experiencing some sort of disability. The greatest act of humanity one can show is to "love your neighbor as yourself." Kenya displayed this type of humanity everyday. I will miss you always my sweet dear friend. I will carry your kindness with me.

I am so very shocked and saddened to learn about this. I literally texted and called her just this week. I wondered why I hadn’t heard back from and saw her obituary on her FB page. I first met Kenya in Irving, TX working together. We continued to keep in touch even after she moved back to Oklahoma. I was so lucky to travel with her to Mexico and Canada for fun girls trips. I always admired her spontaneity and independence. She is a beautiful person and I’m glad I was able to know her. My deepest condolences to her family and friends.

Though I only worked with Kenya briefly at Reliant Rehab, we had so much in common from both traveling for work, having recently turned 40, loving shoes and the nicer things in life, to having a younger brother named Brandon. We became fast friends and talked and laughed whenever we saw each other and I’ll never forget the impact however brief she had on me. She was a very sweet woman with a truly great spirit and heart. I’m blessed for having known her. And I wish you all blessings now in your time of sorrow and pray that God goes with and keeps each of you.
