Charles lived and loved The Douglass High School Creed:
He believed in Douglass High School and the thing for which it stands: health in mind and body, service to others and to myself, social adjustment, economic security and reverence for the spiritual.
He believed in achievement and continuously strove to accomplish what he set out to do.
He believed in loyalty to our school and its traditions.
He pledged upon his honor to help in all its undertakings; in all that made it a stronger and nobler school.
And Charles did everything in his power to be a student to match its ideals.
Charles Perry was a true to life doorkeeper in The House Of The Lord, The Church Of The Living God! He was on duty, in his 5th Sunday white suit for the Blessing Service for my Grandson Duncan who was also attired in a white suit—treasured priceless memory!
Well done good and faithful servant. I’ll miss your hugs and sloppy kisses. Tell Momma hi and be sure to give her a big fat sloppy kiss for me!
