Special notations: Hargene Greenwood was born on January 28, 1934 in Oklahoma City, OK. Hargene was the proud son of Lucy Greenwood. Hargene attended Frederick Douglass High School and graduated in 1951. After graduation, Hargene joined the United States Air Force in 1952 where he served his country faithfully until his honorable discharge. Hargene later became employed at Bellcore (Lucent) and remained there for more than 28 years and retired in 1991.
In 1956, Hargene married the love of his life, Doris Dean. From this union came a beautiful daughter, Angela. He was also a loving father to his daughter Gayle.
Hargene was a very caring and supportive grandfather. He was an avid fan of high school athletics and loved attending games in his free time. In his latter years, Hargene found much joy and fulfillment in becoming a devout Jehovah’s Witness and serving as an Elder. His family and friends will remember him as a quiet, peaceful, and loving man. Hargene Greenwood passed peacefully on April 24th, 2021 at the age of 87.
Mr. Greenwood leaves to mourn: his former wife, Doris Greenwood; his daughters: Angela Woolfolk and Gayle Gaines (Edward); his granddaughters: Toyia Woolfolk, Danielle Woolfolk, and Amber Muse (Prentice), and his only grandson: Gregory L. Woolfolk.He is preceded in death by his mother Lucy Greenwood.
