To the family, of Bobby Sharp, Anna, this is Tray, I am soooo, deeply sorry, and saddened to know of Bobby’s passing, I would inquire about him, through fellow member, Brother Helaire. I must say, Bobby was an instant match, when we first met, in the early 80’s, (Boy Scout Troop) of course, Anna, as you well know, my history with you and your family, tracks over the course of my lifetime, your Mother and Dad on the Usher board, every Sunday, I couldn’t pass her, without a hug and kiss, and she always inquiring about family members.. And Bobby, well, I can’t talk about Bobby, without a smile, and laughter.. I never had an encounter with Bobby, without smiles and laughter dominating our interactions, and that country twang and those freckles, that, alone for me, as a kid, was astonishing, for a Black man, it just blew my mind, but it was his signature, the essence of Bobby Sharp. A short little memory, I first learned I was allergic to horses 🐎, when the Scout troop came to the ranch, in the early 80’s, my ride on a horse was a short one, as I immediately swelled up, Bobby saw me, and said, “OH MY!” “BOY WE NEED TO GET YOU OUTTA HERE!” He quickly acted, grabbed be off the horse, called my mother, told her, he could take me to the hospital or bring me home, he quickly got me home.. But, Bobby and I had a great connection from then on. He would often remember that incident, and bring it up, with fond laughter, when we’d run into each other at church. I also remember fondly, after my Father passed, in 1988, he made it a point to see me, reached out stating, if I ever needed to talk about anything, to just tell him. In the years to come, I always made a point to touch base with him at Church, in the fellowship hall, up until when I left St. John, and even in the years after, when I visited, I always made it a point to see him.. Lol even when he’d walk in the sanctuary, with the deacons, I’d be on the front row, he’d make it a point to pause and shake my hand.. It’s been a while since we last spoke,I believe it was at Deacon Bakers Service, 2019, we happened to pass by each other, and it was an immediate spark, reconnecting, picking up from years past, first thing he said, “Tray, boy, where you been?” “You been Lost,?” he said, fondly, with his big ole smile, “You finally found your way back home?” All in laughter 🤭 but, most importantly, stead fast, with the lasting connection we both had, from that first meet, all those years ago.. Bobby Sharp, is, has been, and will continue to be, one of those go to Brothers, from my home church, rearing years, that helped to shape my thought process as a boy, and later useful as a man, leaving a great lasting impression, as I know he did on the many individuals that he crossed paths with, and I am grateful to have been just one of those many individuals. My, memories, bring a smile, through this time of loss, and thought Saddened, I am confident he has become hole, is well, and joined with our Lord, in the heavens, and I think we can all, be rest assured, our Father, as said, unto Brother Bobby Sharp, .. “Well Done, Good and Faithful Servant, Well Done.”🙏🏾. My thoughts and prayers to you Anna, the family, and friends who encountered this wonderful Soul, that walked on this side of heaven, knowing, his earthly presence, will indeed be missed, but, his memory/the memories, will keep him very present 💝 with us for the rest of our lives..God Bless you all, 🙏🏾 Tray Abram

My heartfelt condolences to Sharp family, you are all in my prayers. I had the privilege of knowing Bobby for decades going way back into the heritage Conoco days, I can’t improve on some of my colleagues’ assessments of Bobby, he was truly a one-of-a- kind, gifted “people-person” he loved his job, and it loved him back and that showed all the time. I would occasionally call Bobby when I encountered a “work” situation that was sensitive and difficult to untangle, he would always take time to listen and then share some thoughtful, wise, and useful advice. Bobby was an eternally upbeat and positive person, he will truly be missed by many, I am grateful to have been blessed to have known him.

When I would receive requests for information on something in the Wichita Falls, TX area, I would take it as an opportunity to call Bobby Joe. We would talk about work and then it would turn to family. It was always so great to hear Bobby talk about his family because his love for them was immeasurable! But in turn, he always wanted to hear about mine and we always found something to laugh about! Our RES family will not be the same without him in it. I pray that the words written about Bobby Joe will bring peace and comfort to the family.
