Davis family, I'm sending my condolenses, after receiving notice of Sis Davis passing. My life has been blessed and enriched, to have called her a friend of mine. I met her April 1974 in Huntsville, AL, as a Freshman at Oakwood College, when she came to our Alumni Weekend to visit. After moving to OKC in 1980, she became a mentor and friend, who I enjoyed working with in the church. She had such a drive and goals that kept her busy and so engaged with the community, which inspired me, because she never considered giving up. For the next 35 years, whenever she asked me to help with any of her projects, I was glad to say yes. During my last year in OKC, 2015, I would pick her up on several Sunday mornings for brunch at Golden Coral. That one-on-one time, with Sis Davis, I have cherished. And thank the Lord for allowing our paths to cross and our friendship lasted for 41 years. I thank you for sharing her with me. Matthew 5:4 "Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted".Β
