It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Bobbie Gene Robinson, beloved son, brother, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend, who peacefully went to be with the Lord at the age of 92 ¾ at his home in Oklahoma City, OK. Bobbie was born in Crescent where he graduated high school from (segregated) Douglas High School before joining the US Marines to serve during the Korean War before returning to Oklahoma.
Bobbie’s career included a life of service, working with Oklahoma Community Action, Oklahoma Department of Transportation (ODOT), owning Robinson Appraisal Service and serving his final years with the Small Business Administration and the Oklahoma City Ambassadors.
Bobbie's life was one marked by kindness, generosity, and a deep love for his family. He was devoted to his family, friends, church and coworkers and his legacy will live on through the memories of those who knew him. His warm heart touched the lives of everyone around him. Throughout his life, Bobbie demonstrated unwavering loyalty to his loved ones and was always ready to offer a helping hand or a listening ear. His vibrant spirit, wit and love of storytelling will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Bobbie is survived by his wife Carline, children of OKC include Carla Thomas (James), Debbie Binkley (Kevin), Vincent Robinson (Pamela), Victor Robinson (Danielle), daughters Regina Robinson-Wallace (Scott), Portia Robinson-Martin (Wade) and Barbara Robinson of California, daughter Tanya Robinson of Louisiana, sister-in-law Geraldine Robinson and special nephew Ollie Jackson, Jr. (Cedar) of Oklahoma and brother-in-law Johnny Crisp, Sr.
Bobbie joins in spiritual heaven his parents, stepfather Mr. Joe Bacon, siblings Bernice (Jackson) and James, special uncle Booker Lewis, grandparents and daughter Terri Robinson of California.
Bobbie leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, over 25 God-children who called him “Pawpaw”.
Of all the titles he held (son, brother, father, grandpa, great-grand-dad, Marine, Sergeant, police officer, deacon, ambassador, appraiser, business owner), none is far greater than “child of God!
Rest in peace, Bobbie. You will be forever loved and missed.
