I would like to express my deepest condolences to the family of Mr. Derrick "Ice" Burkley. I am truly sorry for your loss. My prayer is that GOD will comfort you today and the days to follow. I met Derrick at a very young age at Spencer Elementary. He was a quite kid just like I. But he was also a very intelligent kid! He and I would talk on the phone and go over our school lessons. I remember one homework assignment we had was about "National Gross Product" what was it? Through out the years we stayed connected, we actually found out that he was my oldest sister Mickie Patterson cousin, because my brother Rodney "Pissy Patterson would go hangout with he and his brothers often on the weekends! Mr. Derrick Burkley was a great man, He was a man of awesome strength, He loved his family deeply. He was a man.of his word! I will always love and respect how he helped my brother "Pissy" in his time of need! Mr. Derrick you were one of the "Real Ones" Stayed 10 toes down and never folded. I will remember the last conversation we had. Take your rest now.. my dear friend/ cousin. You will be greatly missed! But never forgotten! Rest Well! Until we meet again! One Love, Becky
