I was deeply grieved when I heard the news of Betty's death on 6/21/14. Betty and I attended UCO (formerly Central State University) in Edmond, OK. We also participated in the first Miss Black CSU contest. Later, Betty and I worked at the FAA for a number of years. I will truly miss her. I extend my deepest sympathy to her son and grandson; her mother and her siblings. Remember, "Earth hath no sorrows that heaven cannot heal."

To The family of Betty Thompson, Weep not as those who have no hope, but knowing that weeping may endure for a night but joy cometh in the morning. So let not your hearts be troubled, but trust in God always with all your heart, mind and soul and lean not to your own understanding. God is able to lift up bowed down heads and mend broken hearts. Our heavenly Father makes no mistakes for all our days are numbered. Betty has completed this earthly walk of life, her life race has been run, her work on earth is done, Now She Rests. This is very sad news for me. Betty and I worked in the FAA Academy together for many years. She was a pleasure to work with. For those who know me, she was a very sweet person to me, however, I was a bit of a handful for her, but we got along very well. I talked to her often as we began to move forward in our careers, but sadly, I didn't see much of her after our retirements. May God comfort her son and family and bring peace and joy to them in memory of her.
