I was privileged to work with Sharon in her role as a public servant with the Oklahoma Corporation Commission. Sharon was an amazing person. She knew how to teach. She knew how to live by example. She knew how to be stern. She knew how to be loving. I will never forget her kindness after my mother passed. She just knew what you needed, no matter the circumstance. Her wisdom and peaceful spirit will be missed in this world. She was an amazing woman. I am only saddened to not have known her even longer.

My heart sank when I received the news of the demise of my "best friend," sidekick," and "audacious sistergirl" from third (3rd) grade at Dunjee until the day we graduated together from Star Spencer High School in 1972. In high school, we were so close that we would have outfits made alike, and when we wore them, people would refer to us as "twins." I would relay frequently to Sharon's son, Emake, when I taught him at Douglass High School that I hung with his mom and our mutual "best friend," Gail Parker, because I had the good sense to hang with people who were was smarter than I. For Sharon excelled in all academic and social venues. She was extremely talented as well as a sharp, expansive, critical thinker. She was far ahead of her time in so many ways. In the 60's we both participated in the OKC N.A.A.C.P. Youth Council, where Clara Luper took us and others to many conventions around the country. Even as a young student, Sharon impressed people of all backgrounds with her depth of knowledge on a wide range of issues. She always carried herself as a proud, informed, and intuitive African American woman. Her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Moses and Gladys McCloud were great people who built a firm and solid foundation for Sharon and her sister, whom we called "Londi." Words are just insufficient to extol what Sharon meant to me and those whose life she touched. To Bruce and the McCloud/Fisher Family, our precious and profound memories of Sharon will be shared with you for the rest of our loves. Love you much ! ! !
