I did not know Dewey well, but Dewey was always welcoming and kind when I saw him on occasion. He raised a close friend to me-- his daughter, that has many of his own attributes- funny, kind, silly, ornery, smart. I am thankful to know this family. You can't help but smile when you think of him. He is missed by many. May he rest in peace.

I regret that I never got a chance to meet Dewey. But I’ve heard so much about him over the years that I feel I know him in a way. He raised one of my favorite people on this earth. I know he was a slick dresser in his younger years and he made everyone laugh. I know for certain that he lives on through his family who he loved so much. I hope you all can come together and find strength to laugh and find comfort during this challenging time. Sending lots of love from Memphis.
